From an early age I’ve experimented with makeup and it seemed logical for me to pursue a career as a makeup artist.

I love working with people and I particularly enjoy the camaraderie of collaborating with the other departments, working cohesively to overcome the challenges we face so that we can make an amazing film. I find the process of building a character through makeup deeply satisfying, especially when I sit down with the actor and really get under the character’s skin.
Some of my most enjoyable work has been as the lead makeup artist on indie films. I relish the challenge of delivering what’s required of me in these tight time-frames and limited budgets.
The producers of ‘Body of Water’ and ‘Justine’ put me forward for BIFA nominations in 2020/21 and I feel humbled and deeply grateful for this but at the same time I simply love what I do.
As a freelance makeup artist my career has offered me a wonderful variety of assignments. One day I could be working on the set of a horror film and the next I could be on a shampoo commercial or a corporate shoot.
Applying skills I’ve developed over the years for all these different clients has really kept me on my toes. I’ve recently been working on game footage, which has been a real eye-opener and reminded me how much I love learning something new.
